Me and my boyfriend have been planning a trip to Canada for months and months, we leave on Friday, and I just stumbled upon a piece of information that says that Canada will not let you in with a DUI, My Boyfriend got one (To much embarrassment to us) a while ago (2 years). Is this really an issue? Someone told me they will just give us a harder time about it, but it should be fine... any insight?

Are there streets or neighborhoods I should avoid? Anybody have any suggestions?

I'm looking to rent a small studio apartment, or small room as an 'american' address, so that I can visit with my Girlfriend who lives in St. Catherines, Ontario only a short drive away from Niagara and Buffalo. I'm looking into moving to Canada, eventually, but in the meantime need to find work and a place to stay as close to the border as is safe and as possible.

Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. :)

My husband and I are going to be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary at the beginning of August and are considering Montreal. We are in our mid 20's-ex goth/industrial kids with a taste for fine food, good beer/smoke and noise/dance music. We have only been to Montreal once a few years ago to see Coil and LOVED it. Any suggestions about places or areas to see, shop, eat, drink stay would be helpful, thanks!

My daughter is 15 and she has been dying to go to Canada for over 3 years now, but my boss might not let me off from work the days we had planned. I know a passport isn't required for border crossing by land, and I've heard that, since she's under 16, that no passport would be required for her to fly, only birth certificate, ID, and a note of consent from me. And I'd prefer not to have to get her one because they are very expensive and it take a long time to get it back.
So what do I do if I don't get my days off? Do I put her on a Greyhound with 3 cell phones and a help whistle? Or would I be able to put her on a plane with just the note, birth certificate, ID, etc.
With your answers, please list a reliable source. Thanks in advance.

We are moving to Canada from the UK , I have kids and I hear lots of too good to be true stories regarding low crime rates in Canada , but I have now just read a horrifying story about a boy having to be relocated form Abbotsford due to criminal gang activity that the police are struggling with.
This is precisely what Im trying to avoid my kids growing up in , whats the real story on life for kids n teens growing up in Vancouver?
can anyone offer advice , the kind you cant pick up on in 2 weeks , or recomend any areas that have low crime ?
Im really worried and would appreciate some inside info here , even personal views on supposedly safer areas in Canada, im guessing i sound paranoid here , but I'm leaving my own country which has high crime as we want a better life for our kids.
Im dying to hear your insider info on this matter....cheers.

My son's friend is 17 and she is going to come visit us in July via the Airlines. She is a citizen of Canada and also a Native American with documentation, will she need a passport and visa to visit us? Does anyone know where we can call and reach a real person to ask this question, and not a recording. I believe that Native Americans have special priviledges. Thanks
