Myself and my partner are considering moving to Canada within the next 5 yrs. Do midwives exist in Canada or do they have maternity nurses. I have no nursing background but I have a degree in midwifery. I know that in the States they dont have midwives. Is this the same in Canada? We are from the U.K.

Im doing a graduate studies in England but i wanna study another field of graduate studies in Canada soon.

I know Toronto is a cool and lively city. However, i was looking at Ottawa; i know its th e capital city but its that all there is to it? It seems kind of quiet and dull but i may be wrong? Is it also modernised and lively with places to see and go to?

So many people hate Winnipeg, but why? Why do people who have never even been here, say they hate it? That doesn't make much sense.

I've lived here all my life, and I love it. I love the people, the pace of the city, everything. I've been to Montreal and it's so busy there, I couldn't live there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Montreal, but I just could never live there. I love Winnipeg, it's home.

Tell me your thoughts!

Cheers :)

My wife (she'll be a permanent resident alien) will be coming to USA next week and we're planning to go to Canada soon. She won't have her greencard for a few months. Is it possible to travel to Canada with only her Indian passport (it would have the US visa affixed on it with the alien number I presume).

COUNTRY? what "country"? Canada is just a pseudo-colonial territory of Great Britain. In Canada's constitution, it clearly states that the queen of england is the highest leader of Canada. Since the queen of england is OFFICIALLY recognized as the leader of canada, doesn't that make it a territory of Britain, and your people subjects of the queen?

Canada is the only place in the world that OFFICIALLY names the queen of england as its leader and still pretends that it is a separate nation. What a JOKE!

Myself and my friend are planning to drive a rental car from New York to Toronto via Niagara falls. I am 21 and he is 18, we're both British citizens, however we are concerned about what paperwork we should bring for crossing into Canada and returning to the US? Should we inform the rental company about our plans

Ok, I am aware that this is a long shot, but here goes. I am planning on going to New York this weekend, it was a last minute weekend get away planned by my friends. We are driving from Quebec, Canada to New york. My problem is, I can not find my birth certificate, with a large family things get lost, my little sister put my important papers somewhere but thats gettig off track because I am pretty frustrated. Ok, so this is all the I.D. that I have,
An expired passport, it expired in 2001
An expired Medicare card, new one is in the mail, but wont be here before friday
My LEARNERS driving permit (it has my photo on it, it allows me to buy cigarettes)
My social insurance card
A letter head note from my work stating that I have worked there more then six months (I needed this to renew my medicare card because I lived in the states for one year in 1999)

I recently flew from Quebec to B.C. and for the plane my learners permit was enough I.D. but this is from Canada to the U.S.

My wife lives with me in Canada, I am going to send the application to sponsor her, since she has a visitor status. I want to know if there would be a problem at the airport if she goes for two weeks to her homeland. No visas are required for her country. Anyone knows?
