So many people hate Winnipeg, but why? Why do people who have never even been here, say they hate it? That doesn't make much sense.

I've lived here all my life, and I love it. I love the people, the pace of the city, everything. I've been to Montreal and it's so busy there, I couldn't live there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Montreal, but I just could never live there. I love Winnipeg, it's home.

Tell me your thoughts!

Cheers :)

As an American living in Canada, and having recently spent 6 weeks in Winnipeg, I can tell you that I adore it!! My husband grew up north of Winnipeg, and spent much of his adult life in the City, and also love it there. The culture, opportunities, music scene (he is a musician); art scene, it is a wonderful city!!

However, we have chosen not to make Winnipeg our home. Why? The winter weather, and the summer mosquitoes. Neither of us can endure the sub-freezing temps anymore (we are older and disabled); and I had physical reactions to the mosquitoe bites ... two months later I am still dealing with it.

I think that the weather is what people dislike. Anyone who has actually been to Winnipeg cannot help but appreciate it's uniqueness and all it has to offer!

I have never been in Winnipeg. I live in Montreal and I've heard many good things about Winnipeg. I'd love to visit it.

Yes some people say it's boring... I prefer to go there and see by myself!

I always hear about the Very Cold Winters there. I would actually like to visit it sometime - heard it has a great museum. Am sure it is a great city to live in. People dis Saskatoon a lot as well, but whenever I have visited it the place has been beautiful & everyone is friendly.

Well - there was Nothing at all in Winnipeg so the People made a beautiful Golden Boy and placed him on top of their tallest building - the dome of the Manitoba Legislature. And that's all there is in Winnipeg.
