I am trying to choose between University of Sydney or University of Melbourne for Education programs. I am hoping to stay on in Australia. I wonder whether Sydney or Melbourne offers a better quality of life, which one has a better job market in Education, and which city one would enjoy living in more, in terms of people, weather, lifestyle, open areas and parklands, shopping, and the vibrancy of the city. Basically which one is a better choice in terms of the people one would find there? How are the people of Melbourne different than those of Sydney?
Thanks for your answers.

I'm researching.
I thought I could ask the community.
If the slang is different, please give me some examples of how it's different. Or if there is a resource I could consult?

when i was 14, i wrote a letter to an international correspondence club in London. i found their address in a Hungarian magazine for teenagers. at that time i always wanted to have an Australian penfriend, as i saw an Australian film on TV and fell in love with this country. so i sent my letter to this club, asked them to find me an Aussie penfriend . after 6 months i received a letter... from Africa :) then another one, and another one... letters came from Algeria, Egypt, Marocco and Zimbabwe! but none from Australia.
finally i corresponded with an Algerian boy for some years.
today i have found his letters and remembered that many years ago (im 31 now) i wanted to correspond with Australians...
and now that i have internet... WHY NOT? so if anyone wants to write me from over there, do not hesitate. maybe i'll find a new friend. doesnt matter if its a male or female - but guys please note that im NOT looking for a husband or a lover etc. :-P maybe a female would be safer :-)

Kiwis do not seem to give their police officers any respect. No wonder there is a police shortage--who wants to risk their life to protect a community when they get verbally abused every day? And they don't even carry guns (the NZ public is also opposed to giving them stun guns or pepper spray). How are they supposed to stop criminals or protect the public? No wonder there are so many random acts of violence in New Zealand. It is really sad that such a beautiful country has allowed it's citizens to become so disrespectful.
