You have been greatly mis-informed.
The Maori peoples are not dying out. They assimilated many years ago and can now be found in most countries in the world.
They are in great numbers in the US, Japan, China, Iran, India, Britain, Australia and of course, New Zealand.
Don't look for a reservation, there are none.
When you are in NZ, a Maori could be the person who greets you at the Airport or Hotel, drives your tour coach, sits next to you at the restaurant, processes your film, cashes your travellers cheques, is the policeman, cinema projectionist, musterer, shearer, waiter or anyone.
Just don't treat them any different to anyone else, because, like you, they are no different.

You'll see Maoris all over the islands; 1 in 7 Kiwis are Maori. There are also many Maori cultural centers that have arts and dance performances, the majority of which will be on the North Island.
And they aren't dying out; there was an increase of 21% of people with Maori ethnicity in the past ten years.

Lol maximum folk on right here wont even recognize what a Maori is. Why not posting this interior the holiday- New Zealand section. My opinion varies. i won't have the ability to make a generalization, inspite of the undeniable fact that a number of them are grasping. I dislike the reality that they think of they are in a position to take our foreshore, scholarships, make up/internet/cellular telephones etc, the unemployment income and then nevertheless whinge

In Rotorua they have a maori village, also one in christchurch, they are touristy though. most maori people live in the north island and live like everyone else in the cities. I have been told that there are no more full blooded maoris left. They arent really dying out so much as blending in by having children with people of other ethnicities. The culture is slowly being lost as people move to the cities.

Maoris often work in Australia as sheep shearers during the shearing season here, but that does not start for some months yet. They are all over Australia in various jobs like other New Zealanders.

A Maori is a person too, you know. They don't like being held in zoos, and they're certainly not going to let you stare at them and take photos of them and try and feed them.
Treat them like you'd like to be treated.
"Where can I see Maoris?" How ridiculous...
