This is one of the several ski resorts. Snow falls from Stanthorpe on the southern Queensland border (once in a few years) and also at Armidale, Orange, Bathurst, Goulburn, Canberra, Cooma etc more frequently the further south you get. In Canberra there is usually a little snow every second or third winter but it generally melts the instant it touches the ground. There is also snow in Tasmania, Deloraine I believe is one of the snowier places.

Is this another bet or the same one?

Yes, it does snow.

We get snow, sleet, rain (heavy rain and showers), fog, hail, sunshine, cloud, tropical cyclones (same as hurricanes or typhoons), wind, the occasional small tornado, floods, storms, thunder & lightning, sea breezes, dust storms, frost, heat, cold, heat waves, smog, humidity. Thankfully, not all on the same day, in the same place.

In the North we have the monsoon season from December to March and the dry season the rest of the year. At the present time the east coast is under the influence of El Nino. So, not much rain and a long drought.

Try another bet, about the weather in Australia with your friend, and see if you can win another $100.

I agree with the other answer, it does snow here. I will add that the Southern Highlands south west of Sydney and parts of New South Wales will get snow once every couple of years. If you hold off on the bet Global warming will stop the snow in most parts of Australia within 100 years.

It usually snows in winter and mainly in The Snowy Mountains (New South Wales / Victoria) and Tasmania.
