I have a friend that is planning on moving to Australia soon from the U.S. and he needs to know who the good, reliable and fair-priced movers are. He won't have a lot of things to move, but he still needs some things shipped there. I don't know which city he is moving too, but I could find out. He plans on moving in October (I think). Thanks!

I'm going to Australia for the first time for 2 weeks. I'm sure I will only have time to be in the big cities like Sydney and Melbourne. What are the must see things to do for tourists/sightseers?

I'm emigrating to Perth in January, and am undecided over whether or not to take my car with me. Used cars in Oz are much more expensive than here, but I know I'll have to pay import duty if I do take mine with me. Has anyone here exported their car to Oz? How much did it cost? How long did it take?

The Australians make this beer and as far as I know that is the only place to buy it. How can I as an American get some without going to Oz?

I am American and have never been to Australia and know I would love to visit Melbourne/Sydney, but Perth looks quite beautiful also (reminds me of my hometown of San Diego, California). Are there tours that incorporate all three cities? I know Perth is 1700 miles away from Melbourne, but this would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip so would want to truly see Australia.

My dad wanted to go to holiday to Austrailia and so do I with the rest of my family. But I heard that the 2005 Cronulla Riots took a big blow to the Austrailians' tourism industry and now I have my doubts about going there due to the reasons...

And the fact that people of different colours got savagely beaten by White Austrailians and said to "get out of our country" when really they too are people of diferent colours (I mean the aboriginese were there first) was also very scary for me to hear...

I looked it up also and found that people (Asians and such) are NOT welcome there.

I was HUGELY disappointed when I found out. So we are not going there for the moment. BUT I need to find things out for myself...

...So are you racists? I mean I saw the images of White Austrailians beating up people - really scary...and are you not ashamed?

***I also noticed that it was both parties faults e.g the casus belli was that Asian teens did something but the Aussiies rioted...

I'm retired U.S. military. I have a retirement but not too much. So maybe living in a "territory" part of the U.S. could be good or bad. Also, I wouldn't have to worry about immigration being a U.S. citizen an all. But, where is a good place to go or start looking at.

Im living in California in the U.S and I want to order some the Australian version of some books because not all of them are availible in the US yet (Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan)
I know that the amount on the website is in Australian dollars and the website doesn't say if the amount on my check should be in Australian dollars or US dollars.

I will be coming to Hobart for 5 weeks in October and needed to find accommodation to stay during that time. Renting an apartment is not an option because the stay is too short. I thought maybe a hotel would give a favourable weekly rate. I don't have an open wallet so was looking to pay around $200 a week maximum. The accommodation doesn't have to be in the CBD itself, the surrounding suburbs like North Hobart would suit me fine. I like to walk so staying in the surrounding suburbs wouldn't bother me too much. Anybody have an suggestions? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If anybody knows a hotel/guesthouse or whatever that offer good weekly rates let me know.

In Australia, for an Ambulance you dial 1 button 3 times.. (000) easy! But in America, you have to cross from down the keypad at 9 to all the way up to 1.

I live in Australia, but I still think we have an advantage.
