all my life i have wanted to visit australia. For some reason it seems like a nice relaxing place that doesnt have much crime. I've heard the education system is good and is effective but not rigorous, like you are not to do sooooo much in such little time. Also, it seems like a nice place. If someone has anything detailed to say about it i am very enthusiastic to learn.

I plan to move to NZ to live with my bf and we are planning to get married later. I want to apply for residency under family quota but the first criteria, I've already failed since I have not lived with my partner for more than 12 months. The rest of the criterias, we are able to meet, but how to live with my partner for more than 12 months to be eligible when I don't have a visa to stay in NZ that long?

Can I move there first under visitor visa and subsequently apply for residency under family quota? But visitor visa is only for 3 months, and the maximum extension I can get is 12 months which I have to remain out of NZ for another 12 months before I can go back again. I don't know how this will work. Could anyone please help and if you have any suggestions? Thanks alot.

I live in America, but used to live in Hamilton, N.Z.. I now have the opportunity to move back to work in Auckland... I don't want to move there permenently though if I can't bring my dog. In 2001, when I left they had very strict and very long quaratine wait periods. (and I understand why) I've heard that the time periods have shortened, but I can not find any information on this... I thought i'd check here and then try calling the embassy next. Anyone know?
