I think you will find that eucalyptus trees are highly flammable as they contain high amounts of alcohol. Hence the fact that the little mites are always drunk. Cant be bad.

As for whether the tourists are banned. I wouldn't have a clue.

Koala bears aren't flammable.

Humans consume alcohol which is highly flammable, yet even alcoholics aren't able to go up in flames just from lighting a cigarette.

That said, you'll never see a koala bear light a cigarette, so I don't think you'll have to worry about them going up that way anyway. The Taronga Zoo in Sydney does have a koala encounter where you are allowed to hold and feed some koalas, however you are not allowed to smoke around them for due to the smoke being harmful to their lungs, not because they'll go up in flames.

LOL - where did you hear that?
Only tourists are banned from lighting cigarettes? Does that mean us Aussies can? Hmmm, next time I am with a koala I must test out that theory.

But seriously - as with the previous answers, koalas aren't flammable, but you don't want to bother them in the wild. They have sharps claws and they are not afraid to use them on humans.

Dont know where you got that, but it sounds like crap to me.

Everything in the Australian bush is flammable and we have a problem with bushfires. People are not banned from either gum trees nor koalas, however, koalas are wild animals, and you hardley ever see them during the day, and very rarely will you ever see one in a city, so your likelihood of being able to hold one even if you could catch one is slim to non, like all wild animals, they should be left alone! As for gumtrees, there are millions of these in Oz, and as long as its not in a National Park (protected areas of bushland and forrest) feel free to go nuts mate!

Have no idea if this is true or not, though it does sound a bit ridiculous! Thought I should point out that a Koala is not a bear, it's a marcupial

In Australia they have much higher anti smoking laws and fire regulations. Unless you're going to trek through the bush to find a koala smoking is probably banned nearby cos it's a public area.
