Loads of Brits move to the Arab states so they can get a tax-free salary. That's great for them, but what I don't understand is how can the UAE government fund the public services etc if all these people working there don't pay tax? Someone's got to be losing out, haven't they?

I have a cat, Mr. Cuddles, and don't know whether or not I should get a fish. I'm thinking easy, like a betta or goldfish, nothing big or hard to try it out...any thoughts?

Pardon my ignorance once again!LOL.[I know Iman will,j/k]

But what is the official language of Egypt and do you use that language here or do you speak a dialect of it?

I have been trying to pronounce the words well some of it and am finding it very difficult, lol.Thought I was gonna bite of and swallow my tongue in one case, lol.hey I am NOT making fun of your language ok.

I speak what is refered to as Vernacular Trinidad English.
Its broken English really but with a mixture of African,French,Spanish and Creole. If you are not from the Caribbean, you may find it difficult to understand.

Eg.De ooman ha he under tootlebay.[he is in love with a woman]

Or-Allyuh who chile dis?Yuh eh hav no broughtupsee, atall !----Whose child is this?he has no manners!

Marty really WAS on a business trip.
(Plus...there was no lipstick on any collars, the gifts were definitely NOT expensive, the boiling water only made him confess to leaving the toilet seat up and he refuses to talk in his sleep...)

I was reading some of the answers given to questions here and noticed that a lot of words,or probably the words most commonly used contained what looked like to me the number three in it.

Is it indeed the number three or is it an E backward? And if it is the number three what are you using it to stand for.

Im just curious.

It looked like this--3-with letters around it.

Have a wonderful day you all and thanks for asnwering.

Someone under the name Gam Zo Letovah today refused my invitation to join in positive and peaceable discussion on this forum, stating that my own willingness to do so amounts to dangerous naivety.

Is he/she right? Is it complete folly to make any attempt to improve inter-faith relations? Worse still, is it actually dangerous to try to do so? What damage might such forum chat cause?

Have any of you been positively affected by anything anyone has said in this forum, which has made you view members of other races or religions with a little less anger and suspicion? Or has your overall experience merely intensified them?

Do you think peacemakers are wasting their breath, both here and in the world outside?

Many of the people in the Egypt section are very nice, informative, polite and respectful. However there are many which are rude, demeaning, racist and disrespectful.Egypt section as with all the travel sections within yahoo are for people who are seriously pursuing answers to their questions.I am shocked that people use personal freedom to maliciously attack the culture of another.SERIOUSLY GROW UP PEOPLE.If you do not have something nice to say then keep your mouth shut.Follow and remember the golden rule to treat others as you wish to be treated.I am a serious person interested in Egyptian culture, and traveling over to Egypt for personal reasons.I do not need to listen to propaganda and lies. Please get your facts straight before answering questions its my humble request. Some people need to travel to Egypt for serious reasons and do not need the stress of dealing with bogus answers full of hatred. It is time that people came together for eachother, and got serious!PEACE TO YOU ALL!

I need some gift ideas for an Egyptian family living in USA (my family). It is so hard buying them gifts from Egypt because they have everything there and I cannot buy them anything 'Egyptian' like ancient Egyptian art or so. I was thinking I should be enough for them, I'm their gift hehe, but it will be my first time visiting them after my marriage so it will look bad if I go "eed wara we edd oddam" lol. Ideas please. Happy Eid to all of you!
