Me and my friends (Boys only. Girls can't handle it cos the trip rules are crazy) are planning a round trip from Durban to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Capetown, East london, Port Elizabeth, a little bit of Margate and Portshepston, and then back to Durban, that is in September 10 days holidays. Is driving better? If not, should we use national busses (like Greyhound, Translux, Intercape, etc..)

As far as the hiking boots thing goes, I want to know because I hate wearing shoes and if I need boots I have to get them now and get them worn in in plenty of time before I go. Never go anywhere in new shoes - I have made this mistake before.

We live in the U.S. and if he takes the job, my mother would go with him. I would stay here because I'm starting college. But I would often visit. We were wondering what are their views on woman and Americans. Especially if they are living there. I posted this in the culture area, and no one really gave me any answers except for what seemed like somewhat of ignorant "out side looking in" style answers. My father is full blooded Samoan, dark skin, hair etc. however my mother is white, blonde, etc. Hopefully what I heard of Egypt is true, that's it's beautiful and safe..but I would appreciate honest answers.
Thanks to all that answer.

Isn't their influence corrosive towards the message and preaching of true Islam?

I am in the States and my fiance is in Cairo, Egypt. I am not there to verify whatever he tells me, all I can go by is trust. I want to find the love of my life, but I don't want to be taken advantage of. If anyone would be willing to help me find stuff out about him, I'd really appreciate it. Please email me if you are willing to help, and I can give you more specifics to work with. I promise you anonymity.

I love him dearly, but I also love myself. This little investigation is only for self-protection, that's all.
