From what I understand, it's mixed. Things are better for Jews than for religions such as Baha'i, which isn't recognized as a religion by the Iranian government, and are often persecuted. Recognized religious minorities are guaranteed seats in the Iranian gov't. However, I don't know how things are on a day to day basis. The majority of Persian Jews fled Iran following the Revolution. Wikipedia has a fairly good article on Persian Jews that I recommend.

To tell you the truth, life sucks for anyone there. Iran has a community of the oldest Jews in the world. I just know that the Jews of Iran are not suppose to visit Israel or they will get their passport taken away and possibly jail time. Most of them view themselves as religious and not political meaning they are not Zionists. I think it is interesting that the President of Israel is from Iran.

I can't imagine living in a country without religious freedom. What I know of Iran is very little, but religious tolerance doesn't seem to be as big a priority as enriching uranium.

In Iran, Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians enjoy a masked tolerance so long they abide to the strict traditions, dress code . . . . etc, however, Baha'i suffers a lot, and their faith is not recognised by the constitution. . . . .
