I am going to take up snowboarding this winter and was wondering what was a good choice for a beginner. I have never been even on a hill so I am a little apprehensive and don't want to get ripped off. Thanks. ;)

My trainer says she would like to get me into a competition by january, and I don't know if I'm ready for that. I don't think I'm that god either, I've gotten to a certain point, and now I'm afraid to go beyond that point, what should I do?

I'm 5'3", 130 lbs, size 8.5 shoe, female, beginner. What size board should I get? Just going down runs, not park. One guy told me a 140, another told me 150. What is correct? Also, can you recommend a good beginner's board?

Im going to park City in a month, and I want to know which gym equipment should I use and how should I train prior a month to go snowboarding for a week. I usually do lots of exercise, but as you know, you need to train some specific points to have your best performance in the mountain.

Kind Regards

What are those called? i've seen em on the mountain before but when i can't find em to purchase online. Instead of hooking to from the binding to the boot it goes from the binding to a velcro strap around the leg. Do they go by a different name? Google or ebay 'snowboard leash' i dont see any.

thanks

What was the song that they danced/skated to at Skate Canada HomeSense 2006 in Victoria? It was a slow song sang by a woman with a high-ish voice. Well, I think the skaters were Federica Faiella & Massimo Scali. They had blue matching outfits. The girl had a long-ish skirt.
