Think..hot tub, jacuzzi, sauna, long hot bath.....anything to relax your muscles. You'll be sore for a couple of days. Hopefully it was worth it!

Take ibuprofin for the pain and in case anything is swollen!

So the first time I went snowboarding it was icy and slippery and I fell on every part of my body. The next day I couldn't walk I was so sore. The muscles you use in snowboarding aren't muscles that you use all the time so you get worn out right away. You need to just keep going up, and you'll keep being sore, but if you don't, you're muscles won't be worked to their full extent. I suggest using IcyHot and a heating pad on the sore mucles. Also, Take a hot bath because that'll help you relax. And don't be afraid of a little medicine, it works wonders on pain!

Drink Lots of water and stretch. Use an anti inflamitory like ibuprofin, or naproxin or aspirin if youre not allergic. When not in pain anymore work the muscles associated with beginning snowboarding ( the muscles for tipping over and getting back up!)
Crunches, squats, leg presses, also push ups or modified pushups and chest presses. You have to pick yourself up off the ground a lot as a beginner, and that takes way more work than someone who never stops or falls. Stick with it, Have FUN

This beyond saturday I began going into the terrain park, I hit a couple of jumps, and did a low rail a couple of occasions to get my braveness up. So I went to another rail that used to be approximately 6ft lengthy 3ft top then a pointy dip on the backside. I did it as soon as no main issue however the moment time my board slipped ahead which despatched me flying with my butt in the direction of the bottom, so I caught out my fingers to brace myself (I understand your now not consider to do it however the ones common reactions are difficult to combat in that break up moment), Luckily i simply bent again my palms, have 2 sore wrist, and beautiful certain I have a few whiplash happening right here too. Thank god not anything broke!! I shall be out once more this Sunday so I could have extra later.

Wait it out. It's just like when you go to the gym and work out really hard on weights. You are sore from falling so much. You've used muscles that you don't usually use. Find a hot tub. Drink MAD water. And wait. But as soon as you feel better you have to get back out on the mountain!!

It could be just basic soreness, or it could be some strained muscles and joints... Knees and other cartilage points get banged up really bad when snowboarding, your best bet is to wait another day before getting really worried. The sore points should calm by then.

With the increasing popularity of snowboarding, injuries—the predominant health hazard associated with the sport—are seen more often than in the past. About 27,000 injuries related to the sport occurred in the United States in 1994. While most injuries are treated by health care personnel close to ski resorts, primary care physicians often provide follow-up care and can be instrumental in the primary prevention of injuries.

The reported injury rate varies from 3.5 per 1,000 snowboard days to more than 40 per 1,000 snowboard days. Mortality rates are low (0.2 per million snowboarding days). Recent cohort studies suggest that the rate and severity of injuries among snowboarders are higher than among alpine skiers of similar levels of ability. Forty-two percent of snowboard injuries, compared with only 16% of ski injuries, were considered emergent (defined as necessitating immediate medical intervention, including fractures, concussions with any loss of consciousness, dislocations, and lost teeth). Concussions and wrist fractures accounted for most of the difference in emergent injuries between the 2 groups.

It's a new sport to you and like you said, you used muscles that you never used before... it's completly normal to be sore. After my first time snowboarding, I hurt in places I never knew existed!!

You'll be back on the slopes in no time!

You just have aches because you usually dont use those muscles, you will be fine. But if you keep hurting and its been like 2 weeks, I'd go see a doctor!
