does anyone know how much it would cost and how much time is practice? I've heard that ice skaters practice routines for hours a day. How do they still have time for school? I would like to start lessons for my daughter but I wouldn't want her to start missing school because of it. Plus I live in a small town in Tx, and I feel like there is not a lot of options here. Thanks

I read somewhere that using custom footbeds in your boots can really make a difference in your comfort especially during long days of riding. I was wondering if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with these and also if there are any recommended brands.

I am about to go skiing (snow allowing) and would like to buy a new pair of boots. Since I use orthotics for running I guess that I should be using them as well for skiing. What do you think?

I'm planning a trip to Utah in 1 month and am going to snowboard at Snowbird and Brighton or Solitude, want to spent 2 days at Snowbird and I was wondering if the powder is really as light and dry as they advertise it to be? I'm from the east, so I'm sure i'll be blown away by riding out west, but I'm still not understanding how one regions snow is lighter and fluffier than anothers?

ok i've limited myself down to three bindings i'm looking at. i know burton is great and i would ride with burton anyday. just wondering about these models as i am about to purchase a new pair. between cartel, co2, and c60. that order is pretty much the price range from low to high just wondering instead of getting cartel would i be better off putting the extra money towards the co2 or c60. i've checked them out in the store all look great just would like to know from someone who has used them or know more about them. thanks.

I picked up a board (can still be returned) but I'm wondering now if I'm too heavy for it? It's a Burton Feelgood (2005--it was hiding waaaay in the back and I got it for a steal <$200 since it's an old model) 149. I'm about 5'8" and 145 pounds and I'm just beginning (mostly blues and greens in Colorado/Utah, no park). The board lists weights up to 135 so I'm wondering if it'll flex too much and I'll lose my edge because I'm over that weight.

I am 45 and in fairly good shape. But I have never snowboarded. I have skied, but it has been 20 years and I was never more than a novice. Should I even attempt to snowboard with them? I would really like to, but I don't know what to expect, or if I can physiclly do it. We will take a lesson first. Any thoughts?
