Looking for suggestions for car/tent camping in New Hampshire and Mass - away from the crazy crowds at the shoreline. Must be well-wooded, have flush toilets (showers are nice) and nearby kid-friendly recreation. Separate RV area (or none) preferred.

Just got back from Bear Brook State Park in NH. Too noisy on weekends with numerous loud children (and adults) starting at 6:00 AM. Archery course was great. The lake was okay for fishing, clean & refreshing for swimming/canoes but also crowded. Kid fishing pond was almost stagnant and had no fish.

Looking for alternatives where young children and adults can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, dining al fresco and sleeping in tents. 10 adults coming from various New England locations limits the range in which to gather, so Mass and Southern New Hampshire are the locations of choice. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I usually go with oatmeal, ramen, and trail mix as my staples, but I am doing a 7 day backpacking trip with my friends, and I can't live off of that stuff for that long.

What are some of your favorite (lightweight) backpacking foods?

I just received an article with this heading in my email.

Has anyone received it and read it too ?

I always thought that the parachutist always packs his own parachute. You can't pack someone else's.

Am I right ? If so, then the article does not make sense?

I am a paintball person and I like to play scenario games in buildings. That means wanting to have a heavy weapon for defense against vehicles. Does any1 know of a site tht teaches you to build a paintball aircannon( NOT POTATO LAUNCHER). It needs to be good against vehicles.

Just wondering if any of you guys would use a compact model glock such as the 19, 23 or 32 as a comp gun. Since IDPA is for self defence pistols and some customs, i would stick to the gun i carry instead of a glock 34 or 35. Does anyone agree?

When we camped in Wales and then Lake district I found lots of walks (description + map) on the tourist websites. Now we are going to Edinburgh but can't find a similar site. Want walks about 3-10miles around Edinburgh - not right in city centre. Love walking through woods, along canals etc Circular walks are great and if there is a pub part way round or at end that is also good. Don't want to climb mountains but can be more than a stroll. Can anyone suggest a free website that has walks with straightforward directions to follow and maps.
