I don't have a boat, but would like to go fishing somwhere in Murfreesboro - does anybody know of any good fishing piers or spots that are open to the public? I've heard the Greenway has 4 fishing piers, but I can't find out exactly where they're located, and don't want to do a lot of hiking to find out.
Thanks for any advice!

I've only lived there for 2 years but this is the first time I remember finding so many dead fish in the spring. It seems like the lake might have frozen a little bit more this year, or maybe the water is slightly lower than usual. It's mostly only 1 ft. long carp, no catfish and maybe a bluegill or two. What's up?

I fish for food. I I am not going to eat it, then there is no reason to catch it.

It makes no sense to me that people who "catch and realese" act as if they are better than me for some reason.

They catch and injure fish only to realese them back into the water. Why the hell catch it and hurt it just for your own enjoyment.

In my opinion a real pro fisherman is someone who depends on the food not someone who does it for no reason other than enjoyment.

I would like some opinions on this, and maybe even an answer as to why catch and relese fishermen are better than I

Crappie season has arived here in Arkansas and I always have a hard time with the light line and low jig weight.

The line twists, it wont cast far enough, the rod is too stiff, and a host of other problems.

BTW the little tiny "ulta light" combos dont cast far enough!!

Can someone help me out and reccomend a combo with at least a 6 foot long rod. It needs to be able to cast with light line and very light jigs for long distances.

Anyone else miss Bassmaster magazine and the Bassmaster fishing tournaments.

It always had REAL fishermen and real hosts. Now all I see is this Wal-Mart sponsored FLW junk

Do you need a license to fish on a lake or river, or is it just on a boat? I've been hearing different things lately. I would like to go fishing at a local river; will i need a license for this? If so, where would i get one, and about how much do they cost? thanks~

My husband and I would like to try it next time we go to the Smoky Mountains. We'd get an experienced guide, of course, but, would we spend the entire day learning as opposed to catching fish? Are the fundamentals easy to learn?

Going fishing tomorrow for the first time this year in Kansas. So like normal I read like crazy on the net to find new ways to do things. I understand the Dropper Loop is not a new discovery but it is to me since I am a rookie when it comes to fishing. I know how to tie the Dropper Loop, but what do you use it for? When I am fishing for crappie I often find that the light lures I use do not sink far enough to get down to their depth... I am reluctant to put a weight right by my lure in case it does not work right... If I use this Dropper Loop to put a weight on, will this work? Does anyone use the Dropper Loop for this? Or did I just miss something and thats why its called the Dropper Loop?

Thanks for your help!
