Sur ehe lives below a dam and eats all the shad that are chopped up by the turbines.

One day repairs had to be made and he scared the crap out of the divers.......who said he was as big as a car

Every river and lake has this same story........it is just in fact a fictional story

The largest catfish are Flat heads and Blues but the largest in the record books are around 130 pounds.

There was a fossil of a blue cat discovered in Arkansas that would have weighed nearly 700 pounds. Too bad they dont grow that big now days

Although there are rumors about the large catfish in the Ohio River I've never seen pictures of anything bigger than 95 lb.

My uncle took me fishing there alot and told me that some cats down by the dam were bigger than cars but i haven't seen any

Take a look at this though from Thailand---646 lb catfish in the mekong river, it is unreal

There are plenty of big catfish in the rivers of the midwest and south. The two biggest are the flathead and blue catfish. Currently records for both of these fish are over 100 lbs. If memory serves me right they are around 120 lbs for both, with the currently blue catfish record being slightly higher. There is also Channel Catfish in this same range but they do not get as big at only around 60 lbs or so.

No sir. Whoever told you that was lying. The best way to catch any catfish from is to put a chunk of big ole' stinky liver on. Either chicken or beef liver will do fine. Beef seems to stay on the hook longer though since it's tougher. What you need to do is leave the liver out in the sun with garlic or butter or both. After a few days you will smell the sound of the most perfect catfish bait. Cut it into chunks and slab it on your hook. Good luck fishin'!

Catfish grow especially near trubines. They get so big in Alabama that they get stuck in the turbines. Then Alabama Power must shut down and send a Man down stairs with a chainsaw and cut them loose. Thats how big they are.

I believe its a myth , but I would say they might reach 200 pounds . I heard tales or them getting that big in hydroelectric lakes in NC . but never seen pics or any proof .

If they were that big there would be someone who would catch one with the deep sea tackle we have nowadays.

There are huge catfish in almost every state. Flatheads are known to grow to well over 100 lbs.
