I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for in what the male salmon is called. There are many differant species of salmon as well, most living on the west coast. As for them being related to sturgeon that is not true. The closest they are related is that they are both in the Class Osteichthyes or bony fishes. Salmon belong to the Order Salmoniformes and the Family Salmonidae. Sturgeon on the other hand belong to the Order Acipenseriformes and the Family Acipenseridae. Usually the level of family is the farthest classification that is used for relation.

A male Salmon is a Buck and a female is a hen. And no a Salmon is not of the Sturgeon family. Some other responders answered with the same one I gave you but I didn't review their answers until after typin' this one up ta' you-sorry. As far as a trout bein' part of the Salmon family it is not, however a Rainbow Trout is a Steelhead (bein' a sea-run trout). Unlike a Salmon a Steelhead returns to ocean after spawning, where as a Salmon once it spawns will die off, hence the word "spent" originates from, when it comes ta' fish...

The Atlantic salmon that migrate into UK waters are called a c.o.c.k. fish, the female is a hen fish. The c.o.c.k. fish is easily distinguishable by a pronounced hook shape to its lower jaw and a slight hump behind its head. They are in no way related to the sturgeon.
