When I asked "What are shotgun cartridges made of?" I should have been more specific; all I'm not sure about is tha base, which at one time was brass, now isn't. Exactly what metal - or alloy - is it usually? Thanks for your answers. I've been a shooting man since 1961 (age 14), so best wishes to all you kindred spirits!

I've read that military surplus 5.56mm NATO ammo may be unsafe in standard bolt action hunting rifles chambered for the .223 Remington cartridge. Any truth to this? I'm checking out a Stevens model 200 for my son but want to shoot surplus and economy ammunition in it. Is there anything to be concerned about such as pressures, cartridge length, bullet weight or bullet seating depth? Will the Stevens shoot milsurp safely and without jamming the rifle?

I'm shooting a PSE Nova Solo Cam set at 63# and have arrow length of 28-1/2", topped off with Muzzy 3 blade fixed @ 100 grain. My current arrows are PSE Carbon Force 200 series. Charts tell me at that weight (63#) I can go with the 200's or the 300's.

What is the difference in the two (200 vs 300)? Are they thicker, larger diameter or what? Suggestions from knowledgeable hunters are always welcome.

i have a M29 spring pistol and after a few shot some pellets got stuck in it so how do i take it out?

Also if u get shot with it and ur wearing a short sleeve 5 ft away and u get shot it hurts but if ur wearing a sweater and a short sleeve or a hoodie then you just feel something poke u, also after it goes like 20-30 ft it just drops to the floor so it doesnt really go that far so my question is that what do u think the speed probably is for the gun?
