A compound bow IS a type of long bow. When they say long bow they are referring to a recurve bow. Do you mean crossbow? Crossbows are NOT allowed according to the website.

My dad hunts turkey and so do I. However he uses a bow besides a shotgun. And yes he uses a compond bow and it is very effective in harvesting turkey. He got one with a 9 in. beard last year and a 7 in. the year before.
