seriously,all day they can watch football,basketball,golf,whatever when they're watching sweaty men tackel each other for a ball........ where's the entertainment in that???

I am going to be a freshman in high school next year and i want to try out for cheerleading. I have several problems and i hope you can help me with them:

1) My dad really does not support cheerleading. he thinks its stupid and theres nothing to it. which i know is really wrong. he wants me to take swimming, but i dont want to. Isnt my dad supposed to support my choice??

2) I have absolutely no knowledge of cheerleading. Do most cheerleaders have knowledge of cheerleading ever since they were young? And do you think i take a cheerleading camp during this summer, i can learn what it takes to make it to the jv squad??

I really want to do cheerleading, i know its my sure decision!

Bowling .....50% accuracy & 50%skill

Darts.....100% accuracy

Olympic Fencing.....70% skill - 20% stamina&10% accuracy

Gymnastics ......Makes no sense to seperate Females and Males?

my name is... well that doesn't matter well anyway back to the point i want to become a cheerleader but i dont know how to do the splits or back flips or front what do you recommend!! I really want to be a cheerleader no matter what so i will try me best to become one by high school but I just cant i dont know how to do anything cheerleaders know how to do can you just give me advice high school is coming up and I am planning to be on cheerleadering team and my friends say get a privite trainer but my mom cant afford any privite trainers so please do help if you can please

I'm not trying to be obnoxious, or anything. I really do not "get" it and doubt I ever will. It just doesn't seem like a real sport to me. Baseball- that's a sport, as it has a point. This seems more like a bad commute.

So why do people like it?

How do you feel about Los Angeles paying Mr. Spice 5 times the combined salary of the rest of the team? And not even in his prime athletically! Will it really bring popularity to the game in America?
