Men tend to think they rule the world. Like Kate Dewitt Buckater said in the Titanic, they are transfixed on size - hence power. You may not
want to hear this, because like Nicholson said in "A Few Good Men" you probably "can't handle the truth." Truth: Deep down inside, we do not really totally "believe " in the higher power... So we make ourselves "big" or "bigger" or "better" by looking at those around us.. Anytime we deem ourselves bigger than a neighbor, we tend to be pleased. Historically, ancient neanderthals used women as the "bait", a "tool" to empower themselves.. Just like early Americans (not too long ago) abused slaves... Today, most people continue to look and compare other people to make themselves feel better (alas, yes, there is continued discrimination, especially against blacks - I am not black but I know this). In the end, a substantial reason for women being separated as such is that if someone were to force logic and reason upon these modern neanderthals, civil war would ensue. One last quote, Tony Montana, Scarface, "You need people like me so you can point your dirty little finger and say 'there's the bad guy.'" So.. we need others to compare ourselves to. This includes you miss pretty. Can you handle this truth?

Because men (as a whole) are better at Pool, Bowling and Darts... just as women are better in Gymnastics. There are exceptions of course, but overall it makes competition more balanced to seperate the sex's. Basically i'm saying if there was men/women Pool for instance. The particapents would most likely be 80% male 20% Female. When we divide the sex's, it gives more people the oppertunity to take part.

Men might have a strength advantage in fencing and bowling. With pool and darts, it's a good question. Gymnastics is all about judges opinions so that would be questionable also.

Do we really need to separate males and female in these listed sports? NO, I don't think so. For swimming yes its separated, for fencing, i have no idea, and for gymnastics yes. I don't see why this happens, but I don't think you are wrong. I can't give a reason why it should be separated.

ok i agree with the pool (but not many women play it prof.)
bowling i think men would have more power in their swing
darts i would say could be mixed
fencing i've never watched
gymnastics is def. best seperated because men are stronger and can cope with different apparatus such as the rings and the stradle horse..

You mean accuracy = chance?
Anyway.
Have you ever fenced? Men have a height, reach, and strength advantage in fencing. I've fenced, I know.
Gymnastics. Women have the height and weight advantage, but men have the strength advantage. It wouldn't be fair.
To you down thumber, F U C K Y O U. You don't have a clue.

i think just because men naturally have a higher muscle mass, it would give them an unfair advantage in physical sports so they do sports for both genders
