I'm pretty new to the whole martial art world, but I am looking for something that involves a lot of punching...kicking...some holds...and also being able to reverse anything that comes my way...I'm also looking for something that teaches how to concentrate my body's energy and even raise my endurance

I know martial arts is basically about self-defense and that's kinda way I want to learn...plus I might as well beat the living hell out of someone who thinks they have the balls to throw the first punch...

Anyways...any suggestions

ok this iwll sound weird. i'm a beginning karate student and in my karate clas the instructor was showing us this thing where you take somebodys arm of you and twist it around and make it hurt and they fall down. he came around and did it to each and eveyr one of us. there was this lady he did it too, shes like, i feel it, but it doesnt hurt. and then he did it to me, and i was like Ow ow ow ow ow ow! cause it hurt liek mad. and hes like oh sorry. you two are exact opposites. if i had known, i woudl have not done it so hard on you. then we were supposed to practice this on each other. i couldnt bear to do it anyone else. and since then i've had this thing. that i could not bear to cause pain to anyone unless they were trying to hurt me or at least insult me or something you know. is this the end of martial arts for me?

I ve been investigating this whole "ninjutsu" thing for a little bit now and I am wondering if its even really a fighting art. And what about the outfits with the black hood and and suit and all? Is that really an accurate depiction of what ninjas looked like?

I've been trying Aikido, I think the locks and throws are pretty cool, but wonder how effective it can be when someone really attacks you. I can't imagine an attacker just 'giving' me his wrist/forearm.

Other martial arts such as kickboxing can practice on pads or punchbags. I would like to dedicate more of my own time to Judo, as my club is only and hour and a quarter a week. What can i do outside of the dojo to progress. Thanks in advance everybody.

I am currently a white belt. I will be testing for my next belt, which is sometime in september. My goal is to work towards my black belt. I looked up on my Martial Arts school and there are belt test in September, November, and February. So in Sept I will be a yellow belt november i will be a greenbelt and February I will be a blue belt. I do focus on what is being taught in class. I missed classes a week ago today due to my instructor being in the hospital. Should I test every 3 months?
If i do test how long would it take me to become a black belt and run a Martial arts school?

The strategy wouldn't be to hit and run, but some way to cause the tiger to submit or die.
