Go to a Japanese translation website and pick a word that suits your blade best. If it as a serated edge then call it quake, if it looks like the blade has scortch markings name it scorch, and e.t.c. That is a great way to name Katana's

Swords are tools and unless its a 5k+ weapon its going to break down with use and need to be replaced like you would a pen or a pencil.
