We sometime see from TV where a man chop another man on the back of the neck to render him unconscious. It seems easy the way they did it. I am just wondering if this actually can happen in real life?

Is there an martial art which actaully does this better than the others?

Thanks

There is no such think as "it is impossible", but we have to make an exception in this case because there is no way that a pro boxer can defeat a good martial artist. No Way !!!!!

I want to learn an effective fighting style that spars with "aliveness" (live opponents/movements not role playing attacks) such as Muay Thai, Kyokushin, etc. but around 4 or so years ago I got my braces removed and have had straight, perfect teeth since then. These teeth cost me a lot of money.

Is this something to worry about in live fight training/sparring? Are teeth something that are usually lost a lot of times while sparring? Do mouth guards provide suffiecent protection against this sort of thing?

Also, don't suggest anything like American Karate (which is actually bastardised Tae Kwon Do), Aikido or Chinese MA. I would hate to learn a style that doesn't prepare you for a real fight by teaching you slow motion poses that don't work. That would be a waste of time and money. I would rather not learn anything at all than do that. Real sparring is the only way to prepare for a real fight. But then again at the same time, I wouldn't want to lose my teeth like in a real fight

and been light sparring for about 6 months occasionly in class.. sparring still makes me feel ultra uncomfortable and I really don't like the confrontation of one-on-one fighting.. I love learning the moves and doing padwork and takedowns and even grappling though.. will i become more comfortable with sparring as time goes on and my technique gets better?? or do you think its not for me and I should try something else?? has anyone else that has done martial arts felt like this to start with??

He quit Pro Wrestling because its fake and he didn't make it trying out for the NFL. So now he wants to be a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. He said he wants to fight Bob Sapp (Sapp highlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUlaybbhfuI ) for his debut match in K-1! Right now hes training at the Miletich Camp (need I say more? He's trained such champions like Matt Hughes the UFC MW champ.) You think he can hang in MMA? He's definately talented as far as his athletic ability and he was a NCAA champion wrestler.

Basically I am looking for a martial art that is easy to learn, based on the rational that if it is easy to learn i will be easy to use it in a tight situation.

A Freind found some infomtion on the internet relating to hikuta. This martial art claims to be very easy and quick to learn and makes some very good claims as to its effectivness. I have tried looking at all the major MA and infomation sites including (but not limited to) hikuta.net, hikuta.com, wikipediea, bullshido, the martialist, and am unable to make a decison about it.

Some people think it is the most effective martial art ever, others think it is a load of BS. So I was wondering if anyone could give me some more information please?

Including
1. is it easy to learn
2. does it work
3. does anybody train hikuta
4. has anybody used hikuta in a real fight
5. how long does it take to become proficient in this art
6. Is it worth the money and time
7. how can I learn it (if it is not bs)
8. can it be learnt from a DVD?

I have started kickboxing and I love it, I am going to try Karate and am deciding whethere or not to go for the belts in one of them.

My question is although I would like to get belts, so that i can achieve something and have goals to aim for. Is it stupid to go for belts with no interest in fighting? Do other people get belts in Martial arts, with no interest in fighting?
