If it's a strenuous workout, cold showers are better. Many athletes ice themselves down and some athletes like football players actually take ice bathes which are brutal.

That's why after a tough workout, if you take a hot shower, your muscles start to tighten up and they get sore and ache bad.

After a work out take a hot shower to clean out your pours. if you wait too long after some pours may close (when ever your body is warm or hot your pours open to sweat and increase surface area as a means of cooling you down, reverse happens when your cold) trapping dirt and grime. at the end of your hot shower turn it to cold for a final rinse to close the opened pours. that what i do, and i rarely ever break out so, i think it works.

After resting, take a warm shower andtune the heater to cold after some time and tune back to warm and cold until when finally you turn to cold, you don't feel cold at all.

I would say a really cold shower after a work out is best especially if you are sweating!

Neither. Hot or cold would be a shock to the system. Take a luke warm shower so the body temp doesn't change dramatically.

wait a bit, jump in a nice warm shower to loosen up your fatigued muscles, after that grab some meal containing protein, after any anerobic workout, and some ibuprophen to help with inflamation and soreness..

a soak in a warm bath with epson salt will help to ease any strains or muscle related injuries...

After any physical activity esp a work out - a warm bath is safe because it won't stress out your muscles. Too hot might burn you, too cold - it'll give you cramps.
