Tito is a GOOD fighter but he isn't great the only reason that he held the belt for so long is because he wouldn't fight Chuck and the division was pretty relaxed back then.
In the last 4 years Tito has fought 7 opponents and the only guy he stopped is Ken Shamrock. Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell really kicked his *** and i thought he lost the split decisions against Vitor Belfort and Forrest Griffen and even Patric Cote went the distance with him at UFC 50 in his 6th MMA fight.
Tito is a GOOD fighter but he isn't as good as Chuck Liddell and you can't compare him to Wanderlai Silva who has a MMA record of 35-5-1 compared to Tito 14-4-0 and don't forget that fight was over 6 years ago and Wanderlai has fought much more competitive fighters than Ortiz.
You are right Tito's biggest wins lately are over Shamrock and Tito hasn't stopped anyone other than Ken since Elvis Sinosic at UFC 32 back in June 2001. Tito has a big mouth and that seems to be working for him as far as getting paid and getting fights but he is only as good as his record and like i said he has to start finishing opponents under 40 years of age or he will keep losing fans and fights.

Tito really is that good. Look at it like this, Tito hasn't fought for quite some time prior to his match with Forrest and he beat him. Then he comes back two months later to beat a legend in the sport (Ken Shamrock) in less than two minutes of the first round. Did I forget to mention that he accomplished all of this with a newly herniated lumbar disc and a previously operated on blown ACL? and when it comes to his previous wins lets get some examples; Guy Mezger twice, Vitor Belfort, and probably most of all Wanderlei Silva who is arguably the best light heavy weight of all time. Tito Ortiz deserves every bit of recognition and more.

Tito Ortiz. permit's settle for it, whilst Jackie Chan might desire to take maximum folk in a street combat or self sefense subject, he's not any journey for a cage-hardened Tito Ortiz who lives to get hit interior the face. mixed Martial Artists are greater effective warring parties than actors.

He really is that good. If he fights Liddel again I think he will beat him next time. He has some great wins over W. Silva, Shamrock, Mezger, Griffin, and Belfort.

Tito Ortis is Good. He has good standing fighting.
But He's not proven in the world Class.
Currently, Hurdo Alexander(I'm not sure spelling) is the best fighter.

Tito Ortis has good record in UFC and other amereca games.
Real Fighting game are Pride in Japan and Kicking game in Thie.

Ice Man was very good record in America games, He's heavy wight right?
but.
He lost midwieght class fighter in Pride. I don't remember the opponent's name, his middle name is "Rampage".

I think Ice Man is better figheter than Tito.
Because he has somwhat ground skill, too.

To the first poster: Forrest should of won the fight.

No Tito ain't really that good. He can only ground and pound, and a lot of people do it better than him.

Was good. He's had his run... I thought he lost to Forrest Griffin, and Liddell and Couture really cleaned his clock. The sport is ever evolving and the talent gets better and better.

He's not that bad. If he would fight someone other than Shamrock he might get more recognition.

Well he is better than anyone who has answered your question. But as far as the professionals go he's pretty good but he's not the best. I personally think he's past his prime.
