yes. its not only possble but very easy. the spot is even marked for you. the back of a persons neck is kinda like a valley before the back of the person's head curves back outward. hit in the bottom of that valley in such a way that your hand is either going upward or downward, not straight into that valley. do it gently or youll kill your sparring partner.

At my Kempo school I was watching the kids spar (my kids are also in martial arts) and I saw one teenager hit another in the solar. The hit was hard enough that it knocked out the other child...out cold.
We quit the Kempo because the school did not teach adults as well as the kids and went back to hapkido...taking with us much of what we learnt in Kempo.
Hapkido also teaches aggressive techniques...so does Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Kung Fu, etc. No martial art is better than the other; even TKD has strong points (tae kwon do). It is an art, so dependant upon the ability of the individual person.

My instructor (a former bouncer, which he used to test his skills in several martial arts), calls it a "brown out" and it has happened to him more than once before. A sharp blow to the side of the neck can cause the opponent to be dazed, and if hard enough, to knock them out. It helps to think of it as a chop, because by keeping the hand open (as in not in a fist) presents the blade of the forearm and concentrates the force.
As to which martial art...well, they all borrow from one another because there are only so many different things that you can do with the human body. However, I would think a striking and strength based martial art (Muay Thai, Jeet Kun Do, Wushu [Kung Fu]) would be more inclined to teach it.
Oh, and don't worry about pressure points. There are so small, and appear in different places in different people, that trying to hit one without years of practice is a fool's errand. All it takes is hitting hard and fast.

Oh, yeah... It happens more often than one would want to. Might even happen when you don't want to at all. All you need is some good power in your muscles and a good control. Or really bad control - that's when you don't want something to happen but it does. I remember once I nearly gave a brain damage to a guy during the tournament. Miscalculated the kick a little bit. Actually, that hit was to the head, but because neck has so many nerves, it might actually be easier to knock somebody out by hitting him/her in the neck. Just be careful and don't break it.

yes its possible and if your wanting someone to stop hitting u its really good. umm the martial art that does it better the thing is that it depends were u hit someone, where, and how much power u used. to answer your question exactly i think a few are more aggressive but there isnt a best at that because u can knock people out in lots of differeft ways.

Yes, though it depends on the person receiving the blow as well as the power behind it. If you rattle someone's skull hard enough, it jiggles the brain in its protective fluid. If it's jiggled hard enough, it short circuits the nervous system into shutdown mode. A glass jaw can be a good target for this, as it can cause a pain overload with a combination of vibration. The glass jaw is the indent on the lower jaw that is the weakpoint of that particular bone. Careful not to hit this too hard, or you'll end up in jail for breaking their jaw.

It's not difficult to cause trauma to someone's spinal area to the point that the swelling renders them unconscious, and it doesn't take any particular skill. However, you run the very significant risk of paralyzing or killing your neck-chop victim, ninjaboy. Don't chop.

kung-fu, jujitsu, and ninjitsu. Kung fu attacks pressure points ant weak points in human anatomy, where as jujitsu tries to render enough pain to knock the person out. Ninjitsu is a mixture of martial arts and weapons, but the hand to hand is mainly one hit knock outs and kills. Kung-Fu is the most applicable to me because i am a student and teacher. so i can explain it a bit better. When you train in kung-fu, you have many training tools, a palm bag a wall bag, and most likely a wooden dummy assuming you are studying wing-chun kung fu. The palm bags are to help with your palm to render a person backwards and unconscious. the wall bag is to hell you pressure point grasp or application(your thumb and index and ring finger placed together as if to stab). they are filled up the same with rice and than sand your goal is to puncture the rice and move through and puncture the sand while this sounds easy it takes much time and practice and callouses. after you finish the palm bag level one as i call it or phase one you can get one that's filled with coarser sand and than gravel. it helps build up pain tolerance and strength. both tools are to help you down the opponent in one strike. the wooden dummy has pegs aligned with vital points for in which you should learn to strike. so as you can see the art of Kung-Fu relies highly on one point knock outs or kills for some techniques.

Is it possible? Yes
Is it likely to happen every time like on t.v.? NO
There are boxers who throw one punch and knock out the opponent (Buster Douglas and Mike Tyson) but it doesn't happen very often.
There are arts that focus on pressure points. Karate teaches to have a one punch fight. It is very hard to do and takes years of training and then alot of it is still luck.
