I know Krav Maga is self defence, but does it have as much potential as a powerful martial art?

Personally, I think that if you wear any equipment, it should always be on for the entire duration of the fight.

i used to do mma so i fine this kind of funny.
everyone knows wwe is staged and the punching and submissions are fake. they don't even apply the hold correctly or put much pressure on it.
so would you like to see an mma fighter fight a wwe wrestler and see the outcome?
like that guy cena in wwe, they say he's all good but him vs chuck, 3 secs and chuck will put him into a coma.
i really want to see something like this happen.
ufc vs wwe. real vs fake.

Just curious here, those people trained in Tae Kwon Do, how do you block when sparring? Do you do low block leading hand with the back hand guarding the face? Both guarding the face/ upper section? What about the one that looks like a cobra with the lead hand guarding the ribs fingers pointing out with the other guarding the solar plexus?

Just for those of you curious I do a variation of the last one. My leading hand (right for me, I'm a southpaw) bent most of the way at the elbow, knuckles facing the opponent ("cobra" style has them the other way) so it guards my right ribs and the fist near the face. Other hand has the fist hovering over the solar plexus (very similar to knife hand guarding block but closed fist) It does leave a hole for a quick and accurate side kick if i'm not loose enough to move the guard but it covers a wide range without a lot of movement and I've got my leading hand close for a sharp strike.

How do you guys block?

What do you think about learning more than one martial art?
Would it be a good idea?
Do you think that a person should only concentrate on one or learn more than one?
If a person did learn more than one would they start getting confused?

Also, which martial arts would you recommend to someone so they become well rounded martial artists? (For example being able to handle themselves on the ground (whether lying down or sitting, etc or standing up, or any other positions for that matter).

Thanks you. :)
Your input would be much appreciated.

I want to learn a martial art, but i have no idea of which to learn. What i am looking for is something that will actually help me in real life situations. Like if someone comes up to me wanting to fight, i deny fighting, but he attacks me anyway. I want to know how to handle it and put that guy on the ground knowing not to **** around no more with me. Dont get me wrong, im not going to try to look for fights. I just want to know how to handle one if i am forced into a fight. and by lookin at diff. questions on here many ppl are saying not many styles will really help in real life situations... help me out guys...!!!! i live in Georgia...so id like to find a school in the area....thanks

From the Calgary Sun newspaper ....
FIGHT NOTES:
-The UFC has come under fire recently for its low purses paid to fighters. Many undercard fighters are getting as little as $5,000 to fight. By contrast, light-heavyweight champ Chuck Liddell made $250,000 for disposing of Renato (Babalu) Sobral at last week's UFC 62 in a mere 95 seconds. That's $2,631.58 per second. Chuck is obviously not complaining about his paycheque.

Is it safe to asume that a 9th Dan Ninjutsu instructor will give me better training than a lower ranked instructor?
Im looking for somewhere to train, I want to take it seriously and I want the best I can get, but I don't know what to look for, any tips?
There are some sessions held in high schools after school hours and so on, but I asume I would be better off going to a dojo, fair call??

I am going to try out for competive dancing, and I really am passionate about dance. I have been in dance for a while, but have never competed. I think it would be pretty awesome if I would be able to do the splitz in like a week or two. I know to do stretches first but I am wondering if there is a really good way to do it besides jumping off something and breaking something..lol. Thanks in advance. ;)

I'm 32, never had any martial arts training. After reading through this "board" it sounds like krav maga would be good for getting in shape and learning how to properly defend myself. Any websites about it show kids, am i too old?
