I am going to try out for competive dancing, and I really am passionate about dance. I have been in dance for a while, but have never competed. I think it would be pretty awesome if I would be able to do the splitz in like a week or two. I know to do stretches first but I am wondering if there is a really good way to do it besides jumping off something and breaking something..lol. Thanks in advance. ;)

I don't exactly understand your question. I don't know if you're asking "HOW to do the splits" or "What's a good way to do it for performance." If you mean how, then stretch 2 a day, everyday. It might take a while, but you'll become more flexible.

I highly doubt you are asking how to do it insince you say you're a dancer.

But good ways to perform it could be doing a very powerful cart-wheel, then doing it. Doing a back-flip, then splitting. Doing a special dance, then splitting. You just have to get creative with doing it.

the flexibility that comes from a lot of time spent stretching is the only safest way to gain the ability, but no there is no real way to do it in a couple of weeks if you have a competition very soon.

If you can get a partner, and face each other, have your partner place their feet on the inside of your ankles and push your legs outward (very, very) carefully while pulling your hands and upper body forward. this process will take time, but it will help better than stretching alone. Or if you have the money, you might wanna try the weblinks below to buy a stretching machine to help you Martial Arts stores will offer several stretching machines or things that could help you. good luck

that is impossible. i'm sorry. you additionally could make Tiger Cats without the splits, except you go with to be a flyer. and that i'd start up practising now. take a seat your splits for 5 minutes, loosen up for 5. take a seat for 2 (comparable top through fact the final 5 minutes), then flow down slightly farther for 3 extra minutes.. Repeat all 3 techniques. good success

put your leg on an elvated plain till you feel it stretching slightly. Than with both your arms put your fists to your chin...elbows around your solarplexus. than bend for wards till you feel your back and thigh muscles pulling
they key to getting both russians and splits is the stretching it takes months theres no way and if ou do the splits or russians without stretchign your muscles you havea chance to no tonly break your msucles but if your msucles are to tight you will as well break your legs. because if your dancing i'm betting you got strong legs. its just liek if a body builder lifts somethign to heavy than hyper extends his arm
and the muscle bursts a bone because it surpasses the bones resilence. Good luck and remember to stretch for about an hour day if you want your splits.

I did it by practicing and pushing my stretching limit everyday. Especially stretching in the morning after I woke up. After a while you get to a point where it really hurts, but if you relax, deep breathe and just hold it, it'll eventually relax and you'll be able to go farther.

I was in a drillteam like 6 yrs ago and i learned how to do. You get a wall the straight with no curves in it.
You lay on your back with your legs up on the wall spread out as far as you can go but make sure your butt is touchin it too. The force of gravity will force your legs down SLOWY.. its pretty cool. but youll feel your legs stretching down but it will make progess.
