Discreet Cat is entered as "insurance" in case something happens to Bernardini, they are owned by Sheikh Mohammed. I think Discreet Cat is a much better horse but Americans know Bernardini better.

I have a 12yr old Paint Gelding that is hard to maintain weight. He is 15.5 hands and has a quarter horse type build. He is current on all vaccinations and worming. Currently he is fed a 3lb coffee can full of 14% Sweetfeed(mixture of corn, oats, pellets covered in molases) and 3 flakes of high quality timothy hay twice daily. He is pastured with another horse and shares a 25ft x 25ft open stall that they are both able to go in and out of their 2 acre pasture as they please.(not much grass left because of winter) I have tried using "Weight Builder" by farnam, but it didnt seem to help. I also had his teeth floated because I was told that could be the problem. I want to increase his grain but im not sure how much is too much. He is rode lightly a few times a week. How much grain can I feed hi without risking collic or laminitis? Also anyother ways to get him to gain weight would be much appreciated. I would like to see him gain aprox 100 lbs. Thanks

surely, this would be a valueble bit of information when deciding between two horses and finding out that one horse can actually finish over that distance 15 secs faster.

Some of you might say it is because they carry different wieghts, origanly, horses were bred for pulling huge loads, so a couple of extra pounds here and there would'nt make much difference. Just like a 100 meter runner who ate too much over christmas.

In greyhound racing you never see the time also, they have the same wieght.

If you did have the time displayed for these races, then you could have like 'world champion' at that distance or European Champion.

what are your opinions?, or am I just babbling on.

Allright, I've been riding for many, many years and I just recently started competing in some Show Jumping. It's been a while since I last fell but last weekend the owner of the farm I ride at, was moaing the lawn and Falcon (my horse) was spooked by the noise. I was caught off guard and he began bucking and galloping full speed around the ring. Since he suddenly burst out I totally forgot how to ride and bent down low to not fall off and since I was bending down and squeezing with my knees he thought I wanted him to go faster and so he did. Well I fell off and now I'm just so scared of cantering or galloping. Believe it or not, I'm even scared to do sitting trot. I need help on how to get my confidence back. Any advice would help.
