yes you can. Just because a horse is shod doesn't mean that it's feet won't hold debris. The metal shoe only sits along the outer hoof wall, and it's the frog part of the foot that collects the most debris, and is most likely to get infected if you don't take care of it.

Yes you can, its actually best to clean them as much as you can to prevent things from getting wedged in there feet such as rocks and moisture from there stalls, which can happen regaurdless of having shoes or not.

Yes you can and should. You should clean out their hooves just before any time you ride and check the hooves daily on days you don't ride.

yes. they are like your fingernails.sometimes you get dirt inside so clean them so they will lessen the chance of infection. yeehaw
