First off, I hate the shoot out. It has taken away the thrill of the penalty shot. And I really don't like that the loser gets a point, if the game goes into OT. You lost the game, why should you be rewarded with a point, for losing the game?

Now, if the deciding a winner is so important, then why don't they use the shoot out in the playoffs? Get rid of the shoot out, if after 5 min OT period the game is tied, then it ends in a tie. One point to each team, it worked for many years prior to Bettman insert the extra point for an OTL.

ANyone else agree with me?

Here are eight all-time defensemen from both the right and the left (position, not politically). The list is in no particular order...

On the Right: Bobby Orr, Eddie Shore, Ray Bourque, Denis Potvin, Larry Robinson, Chris Chelios, Brad Park, Tim Horton

On the Left: Doug Harvey, Red Kelly, Paul Coffey, Nicklas Lidstrom, Guy Lapointe, Scott Stevens, Brian Leetch, Pierre Pilote

Feel free to mention those deserving that didn't make my lists. Pronger, MacInnis, come to mind. You can also consider international players. Fetisov comes to mind.

But I like the all-rounders so I'd say Ray Bourque and Nick Lidstrom. Who would you have on your blue line?

The Red Wing throw the octopus on the ice, the Panthers fans would throw rats, Roger Neilson had Canucks fans waving towels, and the Lightning will not step on their team logo (embedded as part of the carpet) in the dressing room.

What are some other crazy NHL team traditions?

His last name began with a "B" and I believe he wore #48. He was doing good the first handful of games, but has gone D.B. Cooper on us. Looks like someone else is wearing that number now. Did he have the same experiences in Buffalo?

The Sharks are an example. Their top farm club is in Worcester, Massachusetts. It would seem more sensible to have their top farm club out west.

Their must be some sensible reason(s) for farming so far from home.

let me start that the obvious is not always good.--smaller pads(goalies arre already complaining that they will get injured more)- and or larger goal post.--to me what would be a simpler solution and shouldnt rattle too many cages is this. The defense or any player can't dive on the ice to block the shot. You see that a lot nowadays.Basically you shouldnt leave your skates to block a shot .To me thats logical and will produce a lot more goals especially on the power play. Where, by the way, the stats for scoring are down on the pp and are reflective of all goals down in the league this year.--ELIMINATE DIVING! what do you think of this solution?
