At this year's training camp, Zdeno Chara was measured at 6'09" (and a bit) and is the tallest player to ever play in the National Hockey League.
Chara also weighed in this year at 277lbs, just short of the 281lbs he reported to Ottawa at in 2003, also an NHL record.
So, in short, Chara is the biggest person in the game today, and the biggest person ever (until the sumo goalie takes over)

Chara is the tallest now that McKenna's back out of the league, but the question was biggest. Boogard is larger than Chara even if an inch shorter.

Well Roberto Luongo is 6ft 3in. and weighs 206 lbs.
Georges Laraque is 6 ft 3 in and weighs 243.
But I think Zdeno Chara takes the cake. He's 6 ft 9 in and weighs 260 lbs.
