i wasnt able to catch most of it so ive been watching clips...and i saw that ricardo (portugal's goalkeeper) took the last penalty shot in the match against england.

was there a reason he did since hes a goalie...rather than having someone else on the team take the kick??

just curious!!! i really wish i would have been able to watch that match!!!

I think it will be exciting as the world cup will move to a new continent. The World Cup has witnessed to some beautiful games produced by African nations such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast. It will be a huge boost for African football now that the World Cup is coming to their homaland. It will also be a test for the exisiting super powers such as Brasil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Engalnd, Holland as they have never played a World Cup game there b4. It will be interesting to see how these countries perform on the African soil.I am looking forward to it.

Okay, so Italy won the world cup...played some great games-everyone keeps saying they cheated their way to the final.
They came on top of the group...beat Australia, okay the penalty well the ref said it was one - what are the italian players to do...say "oh, no we don't deserve a penalty for that"...the Australian player did slide right in front of Grosso way before he even got close to him...maybe it was a penalty.
Then they beat Ukraine, no one can dispute that...whether they were an easier team to beat - that's just they way it goes...FIFA came up with the schedule not the italians.
They also had a great game against Germany and won fair and square.
Now for the final...if you want to talk about penalties being unfair then the one that was given to the French was no penalty. The italian defenders did not even touch the French player and he dove right into the box...if you had watched the replays you could see that he was not touched.
Enough with bashing italians!!!!!!!!!

Hi All.
Please tell me what is the name of the music/song which was played so many times during the entire TV telecast of FIFA world cup (on ESPN/STAR) whenver they went for break (eg, before start, after 1st half, at end etc...). I want it as the ringtone for my mobile. :-)

People will disagree with me but whenever the massive games were played a lot of the teams were sub-standard, for example Brazil, England, Argentina went out with a punch up. When you watch the TV adverts showing all the players it looks much more spectacular than on the pitch, especially with Brazil

I can't stand it when people start calling other teams cheaters just because their team lost. All I read is Italy are cheaters...France are cheaters...Germany are cheaters and so on. I personally love Germany but will admit that Italy played a great game when they played against Germany. Sure they cheated but every team cheats once in awhile. That doesn't mean they cheat their entire way to win. If a team deserves credit...I give it to them.It gets really annoying how people just can't accept the fact their team didn't play as well as they thought they could. Anyone else agree?

If Rooney thinks Ronaldo is innocent and doesn't care so much about that occurrence (including the wink), why would u guys so pissed off at the portugese player?

Ronaldo didn't break his friendship and betrayed Rooney at all!
