Africa's football is emerging. The countries there will be greatly benefitted. Great decision to take the tournament to South Africa!

It could be a problem b.c. they don't have the infrastructure to support such a major event nor do they have the money to build it (ie. stadiums, public transportation, hotels, highways/roads, etc.) The country is also notorious for its high crime rate (lots of rapes, robberies, and murders). I hope for South Africa's sake they are able to get the funding and that they put on a great world cup. This world cup is crucial for not only the image of SA, but for all of Africa as well. I think that an African nation might make it as far as the semis, probably Ghana or Ivory Coast. Heck, one of them might even win it!

There's a lot of mixed feelings about it, but most people are buoyant and excited about it. Here's a link to what people are saying about the World Cup coming to South Africa.

it's all political in nature as i strongly believe that corruption will rear its ugly head there!

if fifa don't supervise it very closely, there'll be lots of scandals...
