Okay, so Italy won the world cup...played some great games-everyone keeps saying they cheated their way to the final.
They came on top of the group...beat Australia, okay the penalty well the ref said it was one - what are the italian players to do...say "oh, no we don't deserve a penalty for that"...the Australian player did slide right in front of Grosso way before he even got close to him...maybe it was a penalty.
Then they beat Ukraine, no one can dispute that...whether they were an easier team to beat - that's just they way it goes...FIFA came up with the schedule not the italians.
They also had a great game against Germany and won fair and square.
Now for the final...if you want to talk about penalties being unfair then the one that was given to the French was no penalty. The italian defenders did not even touch the French player and he dove right into the box...if you had watched the replays you could see that he was not touched.
Enough with bashing italians!!!!!!!!!

What is question again?
Of course Italy are the Champions, who did you expect it to be? The best team won, period.
And to answer your earlier question as to why no investigation into Figo's headbutt, it's very simple... The referee there took action by producing a yellow card. There is nothing more FIFA can do, when the referee takes such action. In Zidane's case, it was a red, therefore, there will be an investigation to determine penalties.But yellow cards are final decisions, only when a suspension is merited (2 or more yellows), then an investigation occurs.

Quite right, Tina. You tell 'em. The world cup is a knockout tournament and that means that teams will get knocked out, even the glorious Brazilians (Ronaldino didnae even turn up!) and it will be the best team at the end of the day, that comes out on top. In this case the Italians.
I'm glad they won it 'cos they were in Scotland's qualifying group and there's no shame in losing out to the eventual world champs.
Plus when they visit hampden in the euros they might bring the cup with them to show it off. And that's the closest the trophy will ever get to England!

i agree 100% to what you said. and i said the same thing about the penalty kick that france got. he didnt get hit and could of cost us the game but no we came back and won! and the italians played better. they actually played as a team whereas the french relayed on henry and zidane.

my friend.........they have to bash us out of jealousy........the bashing is coming from mainly the french........to be honest here.....I'm a real sports freak........hockey....NFL........and soccer..........and I have to say I've never in my life seen such sore losers and hyprocrites as the french.........all throughout the tournament it seemed they got the better side of calls.......including right into the final with that joke of a penality shot they were awarded........the win against Portugal came gift-wrapped.........their captain reacts like a child to words and comits the most disgraceful act ever seen in a world cup.......and they talk and insult?.........the Italians were simply a better team who fought through all the crap sent their way.......from the De Rossi suspension.......the Nesta injury........the ridiculous red-card given to Materazzi....to all the insults thrown at them and all italians by the german media......through all this..........THEY WON!!!

i agree but on the last thing , the penalty that wasnt its all part of the game you sell it the reff buys it.... did you watch france- portugal? france got a penalty and all portugal was trying to get one also ...
but its true italy was the best team on the world cup..........
