it was awarded 5 seconds before the final whistle..poor australia..
what do u think..was it a penalty?if we look at the replay we might see there was a slightest of contact made by lucas neill..but from the referee's angle it looked like there's much contact..also grosso was on control of the ball..so the ref didnt hesitate to give the penalty..but to be fair lucas neill was already on the ground and grosso ran onto him..it was a tough call..that's my opinion..

They keep going on and on about how modest they are as a nation now (modest people don't boast about their modesty). Imagine if they had something to crow about?

My understanding is that a "shot on goal" is a kick/header than must be blocked by the goalie or that hits the post, whereas a "shot" is anything that can be construed as being an intent to score. I'd love the true definition. What happens if a defender blocks it? Is that a "shot on goal"?

I know its no consolation to u guys..... but you were robbed big time. Thats another referee that wont be refereeing the final. At this rate there wont be anyone left. Does anyone else think that the refs are pants in this tourny. They wont let the run of play go on. they are stopping the game for the softest fouls. The players are on more in a week than I earn in a year. surely they can take a couple of knocks.

have gone into 90 minutes and then extra time bringing on the exrtra subs? that was one of the worsed (london word) ref decisions of the tournement so far...discuss or tell us different; I know some of Oz couldn't see it but trust me in the UK we all shuted "no f*%*&*g way ref"
