They keep going on and on about how modest they are as a nation now (modest people don't boast about their modesty). Imagine if they had something to crow about?

World cup winners earn the right to boast (for eternity) 1966 gave england that right. So unless you come from France, Brazil, Italy, Uraguay, Argentina, or that other country, please accept it.

They're already insufferable when it comes to football, they really don't need something to back it up. I like rooting for the underdogs, generally, so I'm not a big Brazil fan, but at least everyone already knows Brazil is great without them trying to remind us about it all the time. If Brazil wins the World Cup, their gloating wouldn't be anything compared to England's!

Don't worry; they're not going to win this World Cup unless it's handed to them. They'll get lucky that Portugal will be short-handed for the quarterfinal match, but no way they get past either Spain or Brazil in the semis.

We crow about any victory and same applies to all nations.I just feel sorry for the Scottish people because the keep posting questions about England through sheer jealousy.I wish they would just accept they will never have anything to crow about ever..

Insufferable? No. Well-deserved bragging rights? Absolutely.
And if they do win ... I'd be willing to bet that they won't pretend it means anything other than they have the superior football team. Unlike certain other countries I could name who seem to think their athletic superiority makes them somehow morally superior.
