It is really sad to see Australia going out of the world cup because of a bad refree judgment.

I don't know. It was a crap call.
But it is interesting to note that the ref of the Italy v. Australia match
was also the ref for one of the Australia v. Uruguay matches that led to Australia qualifying for the World Cup.

The referee in this game wasn't any worse than some of the others that have been calling games; however, Australia isn't going out of the world cup because of a bad call by the referee - they went out because of the bad timing of a foul being committed. Had it been the other way around would you be so critical of the call?

of course they are paid. FIFA is corrupt. Blatter is the most corrupt man on the planet and should be made scarce for crimes against football.
