I'm a casual NBA fan, and I remember in 2004 the Timberwolves played the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
Why have they fallen since?

I don't think that NCAA has ever seen the same match up for basketball and football. Who wants to see this matchup again? Who thinks this will happen, and who do you think will win?

OSU fans, they just reported today that alot of NBA scouts are saying that not only is Greg Oden most likely to be the #1 overall pick, but Mike Conley Jr. is most likely to be the first pointguard taken if he goes this year. On top of that you have Daequan Cook who despite his performance slipping a little is still projected to go late first round, early second. I mean its great that alot of OSU players are going to go to the NBA and probably do great things but i just wanted to know the positives and negatives of them coming and going so fast...

Orlando Sub 500 team for 2 yrs with Shaq, until Anfernee Hardaway came out of Memphis. Los Angeles was a team full of stars for 3 yrs then Kobe showed up, the rest is his..story. D-wade was already a star when Shaq joined the Heat, thats why Pat Riley & the heat would give up everything except wade when they traded for Shaq.

How exactly does the NBA Lottery work? Does it affect the draft?

I MEAN anyone who says that odon is old is saying that Kobe is old, he would be very good if he shot at least half the time as Kbe gets to. Kobe has the youngest player in the whole NBA, now tell why he is the youngest player in the NBA. Kobe has the # 1 picked college player of 2003( could have been good if kobe was sharing) and the whole lakers squads. don't tell me not to hate because i have the right to.

Why is it that you want people of color to fail? Maybe it's all in my head and I'm wrong, but for some reason it seems like they love to put successful blacks down and hope that they fail or something.

Funny how some feel that Oden and Durant should stay in College? Let me hear your thoughts on this if you are in that camp. My thoughts:

Both highly touted, will go 1 & 2, will be making millions of dollars (salary and commercial deals). Their whole lives are surrounded around basketball, why chance injury, etc. in college when you are a sure bet at the next level. Some say Oden is not ready, are you kidding me? He was ready when he was 10; he is a true center that can anchor any team, alter shots, work the offensive boards, etc. I believe he can be in the NBA and be an instant matchup issue for many teams, he is also strong enough to guard Dwight Howard, Yao, Shaq, etc... if some still believe they are 'not' ready for the NBA, I would put money that every GM across the league would easily give up two/three even four of their bench players for one of these two that are 'not' ready. Rebuttals???

Kobe is more dominant this year, but who would you rather have in their prime? I'd take Shaq all day, he used to be a monster on defense, and unstopable in the paint...also a great passer and rebounder....Some ppl forget just how dominating Shaq was...

Now I beleive that fighting is wrong period... The commisioner of hockey made it quite clear that fighting , which includes eye gauging, sticks to the face a black eye, missing teeth and many bloody noses, is part of the game. And people are more or less cool with this. But when we talk about players fighting in basketball its almost like they should be banned for life becuase they have no behavior. Even baseball and football we look past the eye gauging and the brawls on the mound. But if you fight in basketball you are considered some sort of a street hoodlum who probably listens to too much rap.... why?

J.J. Redick and Adam Morrison were these great college phenoms much like Laettner, then came to the pros and haven't really shined yet. Who will eventually become a role player due to whatever reason (skills underdeveloped, bad teams, playing out of true position)?
