In some ways yes and in other ways no
Here's how the trade was good
- Put more seats in the arenas
- Put a bigger spotlight on the franchise
- Nuggets became more exciting to watch as they go up and down the floor and score a boatload of points
- Great players like melo and AI making exciting plays
Here's how the trade was bad
- Their defense got weaker since AI is not a true PG and is much more of a scorer and hence he has to play the SG postition and other SGs will abuse him defensively
- When AI plays PG or SG, his defense has always been horrendous...he is not a good one on one defender. Its true that he gets a lot of steals but he gets them when's coming from the weakside or when he gets to an opponents airing pass.
- Playing poor defense like the nuggets are doing won't win them any games in the playoffs. They defenitely will not go past the first round in the playoffs. Defense wins championships but offense sells seats!

definately, Allen Iverson has been a great pickup and decision...Iverson produces no matter what but i feel his full purpose is now being used in Denver, he did a great job of trying to lead his team (mainly by himself) to a championship but now being a Nuggets he's only a piece of the puzzle and the whole load is not uneven. Contenders for the prize ALWAYS have to be even and with Denver he adds the last piece that makes this team a well balanced team which will be dangerous...The team is balanced between him, Carmelo, and Camby...when one of them is having an off night the other 2 make up for it in some way...but its not just them too, they have added solid role players to go along with it like Steve Blake who's a pass first point guard which enables denver to get out and run with a team such as Phoenix putting A.I. at the 2 slot. Najera, Smith, and Kleiza are also big contributers off their bench so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the playoffs because the Nuggets have molded. A.I. brings the scoring ability when needed and ALWAYS opens the floor more for his teammates because he knack for getting to the basket makes the defense have to collapse. PICK YOUR POISON!

I agree with the adjusting part but not the coaching part. The Nuggets are getting very unlucky (ex: the Chicago game and the Detroit game) they need to get there defense together. Seriously, they only won once when they scored under 100 points. I hope they can at leas win a playoff series.

It was a great move! every body just needs to give them time, chemistry takes time to develop...same reason that team usa has way more talent than the rest of the world, yet still comes up short, here lately...I would not want to have to face them in the first round of the playoffs, melo or ai, can take over a game by their self, on any given night....

The Nuggets' record before acquiring Iverson was way above .500
Now even after Iverson has "adjusted" to his team, they are (barely) above the .500
You tell me

In theory it was a great idea. Not so good in reality, under .500 when both play. Not this year, but maybe next year they can actually contend without being bottom-feeders.
