Shaq any day over Kobe! Shaq was virtually unguardable in his prime and he is a team player. Kobe is a ballhog who wants all the spotlight to himself and i really think he was jealous of Shaq. And Shaq has proved that he can win a championship without Kobe, but trust me, Kobe will never win one without Shaq.

Shaq was dooky in Orlando til "Penny" came along. Shaq was dooky in LA, until "The Ocho" came aalong and decided to say fux Shaquille & play some real Ball and not worry about "The Big Aristotles" fragile ego. Same **** with D-wade, aka Flash. Ask Kareem(Oscar Robertson in Milwaukee, & Magic Johnson in LA), Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins(Julius Erving in Philladelphia), Robert Parrish( Larry Bird in Boston), Hakeem Olajuwan(Clyde Drexler in Houston), Wilt CHamberlin(see Jerry West & Elgin Baylor in LA), and Bill Russell(heard of Bob Cousy Celtic great) what a doominant big man needs to win a championship in the League, and he will tell you, a player with bals bigger than his and they ball they actually play with. No dominant big man has ever dominated to the point of winning a title without great guard or small forward players next to them. Thats why the best players ever are not centers.
please try and dispute that Jordan, Dr. J, Lawrence J. Bird, Magic Johnson, and Kobe bean are not the 5 best all around players ever to handle a basketball. Shq may be big but he only dominated "effectively" when he had Kobe, penny and now D- Wade. Dominating and not winning means nothing. Shaq went thru it, now its kobes turn. Remember Orlando was a sub 500 team for 2 yrs with Shaq until Anfernee entered the league, and the lakers were just above 500 when kobe came along and showed all the big men what it meant to have drive and want to win. Not Shaq.

Shaq , Kobe is in his prime and Shaq is showing why he is still the dominant player in the league. Shaq was unstoppable when he was younger. Kobe has to tkae a lot shots or his team fails. Besides neither one is as or will be as great Magic and Mike.

i think this is a tough question; it really depends on what a team needs... most likely if they were both coming off on draft day, i would have to go with shaq... remember sam bowie (and hakeem) were drafted before jordon... but kobe has a killer instinct and is clutch; something that shaq lacks... kobe is so skilled and has the ability to score on will; remember the 'hack-a-shaq'; come on, you couldn't even keep him in, in a close game; he would miss his free-throws... kobe on the other hand can take the game into overtime, and score 20pts in 12 minutes... kobe can also score from any spot on the court, not just in the key... truthfully, you are choosing between offense and defense; kobe is the one of the greatest, if not the greatest skilled offensive player in the league (actually he has also been on the all defensive team several times)...

Shaq without a doubt. Kobe is a great player, without question, but in general, the best way to build a team is to build around a center.

Shaq is probably the most dominant force to ever play the game. He was unstoppable and still has the ability to take a game over. Plus, he knows when to kick the ball back out to his teammates. Kobe just wants to shoot the ball everytime he gets his hands on it.

If my team had a decent center and inside presence, i would take Kobe for an excellent shooting guard. If i needed more inside play which was very strong, i would take shaq... if my team had both positions somewhat down and i could only take one, i would take shaq becasue he can rebound, block shots, and score points as well as kobe if you fed him the ball enough.

i agree. id take shaq over kobe anyday, its hard to find a good center let a lone a dominating one like shaq was. its easier to build a team around him than it is kobe.

Well you really can't say because they have different positions...but if i had to choose i would pick kobe for speed and gr8 shooting and his good looks (LOL) and i would pick shaq if i needed a player who is unstoppable in the paint and is very intense (good rebounder)
