Before the Twins did it this year, when was the last time? Man, if Liriano would have stayed healthy, they would have swept the awards... sub question: Has any team ever won MVP, batting champ, Cy, and ROY?

It's going to be interesting to see what Bruce Bochy brings to the table. One of the main areas I'm really interested in watching is how they do with runners on base. The Giants have very little difficulty getting guys on base but they were routinely leaving 7-8-9 or more men on base through the last couple seasons.

I think the pitching staff is shaping up fantastically. I think the Giants gained much more with Zito than they lost with Schmidt and the starting rotation (at least 1-4 look pretty solid). Having Correia and Hennessey as anchors for the bullpen is solid and I think Worrell could do well as closer or set-up man.

The Giants have had a very solid defensive team for two years running and I'm glad they didn't mess with that - especially the infield. I'm happy to see Aurilia back and I think he can do well at first base.

Hopefully Barry will return to form and be worth that 16M. And Klesko might prove to be a great pick-up especially playing for his old coach.

Go Giants!

Assuming he is ready for camp, I think he would be a great closer. Great stuff, maybe the lesser work load will keep him healthy. If not him, who are they gonna go with? Dempster again? Yuck!

I have seen a number of 5 pitch innings, especially by power 'closers', but never in all my years, witnessed a 3 pitch inning.

Does anyone know the names and newspapers of the 8 morons who did not vote Ripken in? Do you think they did this simply because they knew he was a unanimous choice? I am sure they are all Yankee and Red Sox fans...lol

i am very upset and believe that he did use steroids but at the same time there were no rules against it. so it was part of the game and pitchers used them as well, so if i had a vote i would vote him in. i wouldn't do barry bonds only because i hate him. if the tigers were to pick him up in the off season i would have boycotted the season.

Do you think each of these players cheated? Even though there is no proof from either urine tests or blood tests showing proof of roids..Mcguire took "Androstenedione" which is a "dietary supplement". Sammy semi-retired when the heat was coming down on such players "Giambi, Palmeiro, Bonds etc." And Bonds says he "didn't know what he was taking.." he only knew it was a cream..Give me your input...

I'm also curious as to why they spent basically the same amount of money on Lilly and Marquis that they would have spent to get Jason Schmidt. Marquis is horrible, although he's a helluva hitter

the yankees not signing bernie williams?

The yankees currently do not have room on the roster to sign Bernie Williams, thanks to a recent signing of Doug Mientkiewicz. After all Bernie has done for new york including taking less playing time and giving up his center field duties to Johnny Damon. How do you feel about this?
