the yankees not signing bernie williams?
The yankees currently do not have room on the roster to sign Bernie Williams, thanks to a recent signing of Doug Mientkiewicz. After all Bernie has done for new york including taking less playing time and giving up his center field duties to Johnny Damon. How do you feel about this?

I think it's a bad decision. Bernie Williams is a great baseball player, even in his age. He's one of the great Yankees to ever play the game. He's proven himself useful over the years, especially in the postseason. He holds many records in the postseason since he helps bring the Yankees to the postseason every year. He's a legend and it will be sad if he goes. Also, with Gary Sheffield gone, that's one less backup, and the Yankees may need him like they did last year.
My next comment is off topic and goes out to all the Yankee haters. Stop going on these sites and declaring the that they suck. You guys are all jealous that the Yankees are better than your teams, especially the Red Sox. It gets old listening to you guys crying all the time. The Yankees are the best team and you know it. So stop crying!!!

Bernie is a great Yankee. If they want wins (which they do) it's a good move but I think they should just give him a spot somewhere on the roster if he really wants to play. If they don't and they don't trade Melky, which I hope they don't, he should retire a Yankee.

Bernie Williams did a great job for the Yanks. Melky is the better 4th outfielder right now. The Yanks need to do what is best for the team.I would love to see BW back either as a player or in some type of coaching job.

Even though Williams has been a lifer for the Yankees, the team shouldn't have to feel they owe him a spot. The guy has already made millions, let's give somebody else a chance.

Bernie Williams epitomizes the Yankee spirit. Without him, they will struggle. It also shows that baseball is big business where there is no place for loyalty!!

i think my left nut is better than bernie or the rest of the yankees for that matter.... the yanks should sign him... and maybe my right nut due to him bein a free agent

he is getting way to old and new york feels like they have to pay him still millions of dollars for just sitting on the bench and on the occasion he will pinch hit so i say dump him
