Here is what I don't understand....players like McGuire and Sosa help save baseball in the 90s after the strike. Everyone forgets how angry we as fans were during and after the strike. It was the homeruns of McGuire and Sosa that helped bring back life and fans back into the sport. I realize that with today's testing and knowledge, we could consider them "cheaters", but things were different at that time. It just goes to show that MLB is the worst run sport in the industry. They elevate and tear down players only when it is convenient from them and their image.

I dont know about McGuire but sosa and bonds did. All of Sosa's credibility went out the window with his corked bat (and how dumb was that excuse he gave for that, even pitchers hit homers in BP) Bonds looks like the freaking incredible hulk now, I just dont see how anyone can gain that much muscle through a natural workout when they were so small to begin with. And as for the idea that steroids cant help you hit a homerun, well thats just flawed. If you start taking steroids balls you hit to the wall or going to start going over the wall.

McGwire: Juiced his whole career, everything he did is tainted. Nice, but flawed person. Sosa: Little speedster, average player then ballooned after discovering "Flintstones". All his power stats are tainted. Colourful, likable personality. Barry Bonds: sure-fire Hall of Famer until he got jealous of McGwire & Sosa. Took steroids, produced unbelievable power numbers. Literally unbelievable. One of the bigger jerks to ever play the game, although the media probably portrays him as worse than he really is. Ken Griffey Jr.: so far he's clean, and I hope it stays that way. First ballot Hall of Famer, one of the really "good guys" in the game. His attitude has been one of the big reasons the M's have turned it around this year. If it ever turns out that he used as well....that would be a terrible blow for baseball - worse than A-Rod - most of us are still hoping Griffey and Pujols are clean.

All I can say is Sammy and Big Mac brought baseball back to life in 98!!!! If they took the Roids then thats too bad but you still have to hit the ball!!!!!!!!!! If these guy's want to ruin there life and take them then so be it. Maybe they should take a look at the late Lyle Alzado?

Barry for sure. McGwire might have just used supplements that were actually legal but that is very doubtful. Sosa probably. The question is not wither they did or didn't take something the question is what did they take and where do you draw the like on what is legal or not. My suggestion is any supplement that unnaturally adds strength like Andro, maybe Crieten should be outlawed. I guess since that is my opinion they are all Cheaters.

Although nothing has been legally "proven" in most cases, Palmiero WAS caught w/ a dirty test. Giambi basically admitted to it. McGwire's testimony was basically admitting to it w/ the whole "...not here to talk about the past" stuff. In Sosa's case, even if he never tested positive, he DID get busted corking his bat.
I am so sick of the shadow they have cast on the game!

Who cares, making some one a bit stronger doesn't make them hit the ball better or else the strongest people in the world would be better than such players. Strong people don't hit homeruns people with natural skills do. Whether they did it or not doesn't make them bad players like many think.

sosa did.....bonds did...big Mac is fishy...but I dont know....he was a big time hitter before the 98 season......so who knows...
Sosa and Bonds where not big time hitters....
then all of a sudden....bam...smacking over 60hrs....
Big Mac...at least had a few 40's and 50's way before that....but....he did play with Canseco who admitted to using the roids....
