Pitchers are usually bad hitters. But this lefty, who won 89 games in 6 years and set the World Series record for scoreless innings also hit 714 life-time home runs and had 60 in one year. Who was he?

The bases are loaded and there are two out. The score is 3-2 visitors in the 11th inning with the home team batting. The next batter hits a ball over the left field fence in fair territory for a home run. The 3rd and 2nd base runners touch home plate. The 1st base runner thinks the ball fell in the park and does not move. The batter runs past him and is called out. Who won the ball game? The home team, because they scored two runs? Or the visitors, because the runs don't count since the third out occurred in the play?

I was student teaching in a 2nd grade class a couple months ago and the subject of baseball came up. The teacher asks how many of the kids are Yankees fans and all but one kid raises his hand. The teacher then asks Jimmy how come he didn't raise his hand.

Jimmy says, "Because I am a Red Sox fan."

The teacher asks how come he is a Red Sox fan.]

Jimmy says, "Because my parents are."

The teacher says, "that is crazy, Jimmy. Do you do every thing your parents do? If your parents were idiots, what would that make you?"

Jimmy says, "A Yankees fan."

Here's my solution to the lamest name of all time. Just rename every American League team the Los Angeles Angels. Think about it. You could have the Los Angeles Angels of Boston. The Los Angeles Angels of New York. The Los Angeles Angels of Chicago. Etc.

What do you think?

Why do so many MLB teams put people on the 15 day DL for something that will certainly take longer than 15 days? Why are some players still on a 15 day DL dating back to the beginning of the season? Can someone explain the intricacies of this please?

I am a huge Giants fan and i want Soriano. The Giants could trade Schmidt to the White Sox the sox would trade Brandon McCarthy to the Nationals, and the nationals would trade Soriano to the Giants. I don't care where he plays this year, we just need to sign him up so then we can go after Carlos Lee and Barry Zito in the free agent market this winter.

I don't understand the logic since it deceives the hitters average and wood bats are used in the minor and major leagues.

Does anybody have any idea what the Indians' front office is up to? With Wickman, Crisp, and Broussard gone this year, I'm beginning to think Shapidiot the GM is trying to rebuild the team. Again. Any guesses as to what the crud he's doing?
