Derek Jeter!
His effort, his ability, along with the class that he carries himself with makes Derek Jeter a professional athlete that everyone in little league should want to be like.
Nothing against Miguel Tejada, he's a very good, very solid player, but he's not Derek.

The RF(range factor) is the big difference between the two. Jeter's defense gives up 133 more hits than Tejada's over 162 games(this year)...Tejada's defense has always been much better than Jeter's, it's in the last 5 years that his offense has come around to where he is now the better "all around" Shortstop...I'm pretty sure the question was, who was better and not, who has played for the better team.

This is a question? Tejada--the guy who can't run the bases worth a damn. You see how much better the O's aren't since he came over and how the A's still keep on winning.
I love Miggy but Jeter is unreal when it really counts...in the postseason.
