I know it's early, and I hope the White Sox will repeat.

Here's what happened. Coach calls time and goes out to mound for a team meeting. Ball is then slipped to third baseman and the team goes back to positions. The pitcher walks up to but doesn't stand on the rubber. The play doesn't work so the third baseman throws ball back to pitcher. Is this a Balk? It would be a balk if the pitcher had put his foot on the rubber correct?

If start time is 7:05, but there is the cerimonial "first pitch"(sometimes 2, 3, or 4) introducing the team players by name and position and all other announcements, when does the game really begin?

This is one of those excitement killers that will eventually kill baseball. I don't really care about how the managers want to be appreciated for their strategy; give them a chess set and let them sit in the locker room instead of bringing the game to a dead stop. As a fan of the home team, I'd rather face the music of having a slugger beat us than this wimpy IW. Besides, isn't it a lot more fun if your pitcher gets him out--achieving something rather than weaseling out of it?

Baseball is a sport that stresses strongly the individual, not the group. The team only wins if individuals (pitchers are the best example) do well. Yet Japan politically was an empire (with emphasis on the group following the Emperor) and controlled much of Asia in the '30s. How could baseball and Empire mix?

Korea has followed the Japanese model in liking baseball almost as much as soccer, and players have been coming to the USA. Yet other Asian countries haven't adopted baseball as much as Japan. Interesting.

That this is the 21st century? All of their "so called" champions (yes, all 26 of them) were SOOOOOO last century?

Really now, they yankees have NOT won a world series this century, nor do I think they ever will.

Guess what? It's the yankees turn to be cursed for the next 100 years...and I will enjoy every day of it.

For example, it says for todays Tigers/Cubs game:

Favorite
Tigers - 160

Underdog
Cubs + 145

12 ov - 120

What does this mean, how do you read it?
